wget removes one of two trailing slashes on the URL given to it.  This is
incompatible with Freenet, which uses URLs of this type:

http://localhost:8888/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/FreenetHelp//

Freenet is just one little program, I'll grant you.  But, as I understand it,
removing one of the two trailing slashes is done to work around a problem that
occurs in a not-so-common situation with some web servers.

Regardless of the reason, could we please have an option to turn off this
de-slashing?  There's a patch attached to the bug report referenced above.
