Create a custom service and the only thing you put in there is the
port...443. As far as I can tell, WUG only checks to see if the port is
accepting connections when you create a service this way. Anything else
added means you are looking for something else, and in the case of SSL it
won't work on WUG.

I haven't had any luck getting WUG to connect with the machine. How do you
have SSL set up as a custom service?

You can set up WUG to check if any port is accepting connections(which
includes 443), but due to the lack of ssl built-in to WUG, you can't check
for particular pages. We monitor over a hundred ssl servers just checking
if the port is open. We have another service that checks specific
pages(http://www.nocpulse.com)

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck monitoring a remote server which
only allows port 443 SSL traffic through? I have a remote server behind a
firewall which only allows this type of traffic. ipswitch tech reps told me
that they do not support SSL monitoring due to company policy.
