Here's the summary of where this is right now.

When I run the bat file manually by starting the PIF the window closes
as it should. I tried adding exit to the end of the batch file last
night and the text just shows up in the window too. Adding /c at the end
of the program definition in WUG just replaces the first variable with
/c.

Thanks, everybody for the rapid help on this, and especially Scott, for
your suggestion below which does cause the window to close.

That's the good news, now the bad news. Besides the flicker of the DOS
window every time it runs, it halts the screen saver! I do have Allow
Screensaver checked in the Misc tab of the pif properties.
