Hey Rich,

I use MRTG on a lot of routers and servers here. You can monitor a single
server's throughput one of 2 ways;
1. Monitor the switch port the server is on (assumes a fully switched
environment.
2. monitor the nic in the server with SNMP or if it is NT check out this
page http://www.wn.com.au/psimmo/ It is a set of perl scripts that collect
information from a WIN2k performance log and displays the data in MRTG. The
collection machine has to be Win2k, the monitored servers can be 2k or NT
4.0.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] custom web reports

Hi,

I am using the Summary view on the web interface to monitor the uptime of
some servers on my network, but there are some fields which I do not need to
show, such as the Type, #Polls, etc. Is there any way to customize the
Summary view such that it only shows the fields that I need?

Also, I need to prove the throughput of the servers to show to my customers
that they are getting the bandwidth that they are buying. In the Net Tools,
there's a Throughput command, but the output is only to the GUI. Is there a
way to pipe that output to a command line, or better yet, to show it on the
web interface? If this is not possible, can anyone recommend a tool that
can test the throughput then report on it? I know MRTG has some nice
reporting features, but I didn't find anything on showing the throughput of
a server.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Rich
