Dear WUG Forum;

I've upgraded from V5 to 7 and moved my WUG to a new server on a trial
basis. Most everything has worked out but I'm having trouble getting Custom
Device Icons to display correctly. In general, my generic router Vdevice
icons are being used rather than the slightly customized ones I've created.
Given the symptoms below, anyone got a suggestion or clarifying question?

I click open New Map, right-click to Net Tools and select the Scan tab. At
this point, the Custom Devices library on the left shows both some
seemingly good (older) custom icons as well as the ones I've been working
with recently - those do NOT show the icon modifications I've made. I run a
scan for a very limited range of IP addresses with MAP, RESOLVE, IDENTIFY
and ALL IP checked. I'm using a working readonly SNMP string. The resulting
map contains a Cisco 7505 router and a Cisco 7200 router, using the generic
router icons. If I rightclick on either device, Properties indicates the
SNMP OID which I expect and which is associated with that custom device in
the Hosttypes file, plus the General Device Type field is correct. But the
icon is generic, not custom.

Now, on the left in the Custom Device library, I've got a correctly labeled
("template name") Cisco 7200 device, tho it shows the generic router icon.
When I rightclick to Edit that, it's pointing to my custom icon's filename.
Plus, if I click the button to display the icon, Vdevice cranks up and
opens the 'dot EMF' file of the custom icon!!
This host has been booted so if there are any WinNT icon caches or buffers,
those should have been refreshed.....
My defs.txt file shows what I believe to be the correct Cisco MIBs....
I did create the icons in another app and import them into Vdevice but
according to Vdevice itself, they display and save correctly....
Did I step on some register entry during my upgrade?.....

Any suggestions are appreciated - TIA -Don
