Just to let you know that you've given a lot of useful feedback here, and we
are looking through the items one by one.

Straight off I can say that the "passwords in clear" issue is a known issue
and scheduled for fixing in v7.01. I cannot give a release date. To quote
Gary Hellman (Product Manager), "..all I can say at this time is we are
working on it".

There are a couple of items that we have not been able to reproduce, but
will keep trying.

Clearing notification queues and sending multiple notifications are logged
as feature requests.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] List of Trouble-Spots

Hi All:

I am using Whats Up Gold v7.0 (running as an application) and have adapted
the alternative web templates for my web browser. I have yet to manipulate
these templates (which could solve some of my issues), but I thought I
would share some of my findings. If anybody has any ideas or fixes for the
following list I would be happy to hear them.

Here is a list of items that I found to be 'buggy':

Web Browser Based:
-- SNMP updates are not displayed in individual device logs (already
noted in the forum), but only in main log
-- Tool selection (Ping, Trace, etc.) are only found in the main
maps, not in the individual hosts pages
-- Individual Host Page states device is 'up' but this is a
replication of the ping time-stamp. If Host is 'down' the Host Page still
states it is 'up'.
-- Hosts that need to be acknowledged are not highlighted on the main
tatistics map page.
-- If all devices are down or unmonitored within a single map, then
the map will not show any statistics nor devices(nothing is seen).
-- Is there an option to run event or statistics reports on
individual hosts/devices via the web browser?

Monitor Based:
-- There isn't any option to clear the notification queue without
restarting the application.
-- Does anyone have any ideas how WUG can utilize external paging
services (e.g.: SkyTel) by sending multiple notifications/pages in a single
call (greatly increasing notification capacity)?
-- Also, is there a option to prohibit storing browser client
passwords in the clear (presently clearly visible on the server GUI)?

Sorry this list is so long, but I noticed these issues during a short
amount of time and decided to group them together.

Any information on one or all of these items is welcome.

Thanks,
