There is a known defect in v6/v5 that will not update the parent
map status if subnets are 3 levels deep and WUG is running as a service.
This issue is not present if WUG is running as a console application.
That is, it can be demonstrated if WUG is a service but cannot
be demonstrated if WUG is running as a regular application.

This sounds like the defect you are describing.  This defect was
fixed in the v7 release.

Remember to backup your install directory (i.e. maps and configuration
files, etc) before upgrading.
