Why don't you use a text label next to the icon ? This is what we have
done.

Thats what I tried to do and then put an overlay text in of: FIBER.

But, I have found that the subnet icon is very unique. If I try to copy
it the new icon wants to poll an ip address and does not link to a map
name. So it shows the subnet as being down. Creating a new icon has not
been very successful.

If you right click on the subnet icon in the general devices and copy
it, it makes an icon called "copy of subnet" but the properties of this
icon are not the same as the original. I even tried to change the color
of the subnet name but cannot find a way to do this for each specific
subnet. How frustrating.

I would change the icon itself. create one that is almost the same.

Greetings all,

We are in the midst of an update to our WAN network. Many of the
subnets are switching over to a fiber connection. What I would like to
do is designate on my main map which subnets have been converted to
fiber. However I am having some difficulty finding a way to do this.

I first thought of changing the "attach to" line color, but that is a
global change for the whole map. Next I copied the subnet icon and made
it a Fiber Subnet, but the subnet properties do not stay the same.

Anyone have an idea on how to accomplish this?
