Hello Mohammed,

1. What device type should I use for CISCO 2900 CISCO switches? I do not
see it in the device list.
A 2900 is a switch so, consider using the switch icon. It really doesn't
matter what the icon looks like, its what you monitor that matters.

2. Can I setup WUG to monitor specific router interfaces? And send an
alert if any one interface goes down?
Yes, use the SNMP utility in WhatsUp Gold to monitor the ifOperStatus MIB:
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8.<instance> if the value is 1, the interface is up. If
the value changes to a 2, the interface is down. Very slick!

3. Can WUG monitors specific application running on server, if it is not
running as service? Such as Lotus Notes...etc.
Yes, if the application is running as an NT service. Use the NT service
utility in WhatsUp Gold.

4. What is screen save? And what are the benefits of screen saver...?
What?

Have fun,

Michael Patterson

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Questions...

Hi everyone,
I have been missing with WUG for little while; and it seems like a usable
product. Excuse my ignorance of WUG.
Questions:
1. What device type should I use for CISCO 2900 CISCO switches? I do not
see it in the device list.
2. Can I setup WUG to monitor specific router interfaces? And send an
alert if any one interface goes down?
3. Can WUG monitors specific application running on server, if it is not
running as service? Such as Lotus Notes...etc.
4. What is screen save? And what are the benefits of screen saver...?

Thanks to you all in-advance.
