I have been emailing them out, but if someone wants to post it, that would be great too.

Since I think a lot of people would be interested. If the files are not too large can they be sent via e-mail or posted on someones FTP Site?

Hey John:

Great work on making that happen. I would appreciate a copy of those files.

Thanks,

Gary

A couple of weeks ago, I emailed the group looking for a way to automatically generate and email an event report (the type created using wugrpt.exe). Nobody had a way to do it and Ipswitch said that would be a good thing for a product enhancement.

Well, I did a little playing and with the help of a couple engineers here, we came up with a way to do it.

Since wugrpt is a command line utility, it seemed only logical to use a batch file. The problem was coming up with the correct data parameters to generate the report on a monthly basis. One of the guys here (Dave May) wrote a little program to look at the computer's current date and automatically generate the first and last day of the previous month in the yyyymmdd format that wugrpt needs. Then the program generates a batch file and passes the appropriate dates as variables.

That generated the reports. The next step was emailing them from the batch file. Commail came to the rescue.

I have a ZIP file that contains the datecalc.exe, commail.exe and necessary BAT files and info. If you are interested in it, please email me and I will send it to you.

I hope someone finds this as useful as I do. Now I get my Event Reports emailed to me on a monthly basis, automatically!!!

Special Thanks to Dave May in the production of this tool.
