All, We are currently running WUG 8.0 on a Dell 1550, 1G RAM, 866 MHz Processor, 18G HD, 100mbs eth int - Win 2000 Server. The application is run within a terminal services session for remote management purposes. We are monitoring approx 1900 nodes. Currently we accept traps from a very small number of devices and have likewise limited the number of devices being polled via SNMP.
For the most part we are very pleased with the performance ecepting one recurring failure. Approx once a week, we are forced to restart the WUG application due to a RunTime Error from WhatsUpG.exe. When the error occurs, we usually see an application pop-up from Win2k reporting this error. This causes the application as well as the web interface to hang until the error is acknowledged and the application is restarted. We have been concerned that we may be pushing the application to its limits, but from previous posts in the "[WhatsUp Forum] Server sizing for WhatsUp Gold" this does not seem to be the case. Has anyone else seen this behavior and if so what steps have you taken towards resolution?
