WhatsUp Gold is not able to monitor the kind of OID that you are receiving.

I logged this one as a Feature Request a few weeks ago. Here's how I phrased it:

Some vendors stuff all sorts of info into a single OID.

Example, from SmartBridge Air Point Pro Outdoor:

NetworkSettings.0=00 00 00 05 5d ed 72 ea 00 01 1e 01 00 04 03 00 82 84 8b 96 42 45 4e
00 49 4e 4b 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
03

Only part of this payload is of interest.

SNMPMon should be able to use the Regular Expression Tool to be able to pick out
exactly what is of interest in the payload.

Futhermore, it should be possible to specify a conversion on the result.

For instance, in the above example it is desired to monitor the RSSI which is the 11th
byte. The RSSI value is 1e hex so HEX to INTEGER conversion would give a signal
strength of 40 (percent)

This value can then be directly compared against the standard SNMPMOn threshold field
to determine whether there is an UP or DOWN.

Additionally, portions of strings could be matched against - for example the IOS
version of a switch could be plucked out of the system description (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0)

example:
Cisco Internetwork Operating System Software
IOS (tm) 2500 Software (C2500-IS40-L), Version 11.2(5)P, SHARED PLATFORM, RELEASE
SOFTWARE (fc1)

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] SNMP Monitoring Question

I have an OID that returns:

01E2CB500E3DDA6630372F32372031333A353800000000000000000002E8009302E802E802E8
001300000000

It is actually composed of sets of two hex digitals. I need to be able to
monitor the 29th and 30th pair (converting it to decimal). In this case
these would be the first instance of 02 E8. Anybody have an idea as to how
(or if) this is possible?

Thank you,
Scott Montgomery
