I am using a US Robotics External 56k. I have the baud rate set to 300.

I have no problem with receiving emails on my PCS phone, but if my mail server or router goes down... :(

I have it set up to send a page to my pager if my mail server, router or switch goes down. But if I can fix this problem, I can get rid of my pager and carry just a phone.

I've been using E-Mail to send my notification also but just last
weekend our main production router went down and I didn't know it until
I came in Monday. With our router being down there was no way to get my
notification until our connection back to the Internet came back
on-line. This is why I've decided to revisit the old Sprint TAP again.

Jacob, I receive the same message that you do. I think I'm going to find the oldest external modem I can find and see if that works. My monitor server is currently a Dell PowerEdge rack system that only supports PCI so I'm going to find an old Hayes external serial modem and test it with that. The US Robotic one that WUG support recommended did the same as my internal one. I'm hoping it will work, if it does I'll let you guys know.

This is what I get:

[Sprint] Maximum connection time to process script set to: 150 seconds
[Sprint] Attempting to connect to Provider: USA/Sprint PCS
[Sprint] Sent: "ATE0Q0V1X4F1<CR>"
[Sprint] waiting for completion
[Sprint] Returned: "<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>"
[Sprint] Sent: "ATDT18886561727<CR>"
[Sprint] waiting for completion
[Sprint] Returned: "<CR><LF>NO CARRIER<CR><LF>"
[Sprint] No carrier!

[Sprint] Sent: "+++"
[Sprint] Sent: "ATH0<CR>"
[Sprint] waiting for completion
[Sprint] Returned: "<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>"
[Sprint] Sent: "+++"
[Sprint] Sent: "ATH0<CR>"
[Sprint] waiting for completion
[Sprint] Returned: "<CR><LF>OK<CR><LF>"
[Sprint] Connection time: 30 seconds

Sending pager or beeper notifications work. I just use email to send
me a
message to my Sprint/PCS phone.
