Hi! I wanted to cheackout how you are testing your WhatsUp installation. I mean how do you actually knows that all errors are triggering the important mail/sms etc..?
I am for example monitoring the windows 2000 eventlogs on my servers, and WUG triggers on many things. But I cant test if it triggers for critical problems like disk failure, disk full, ups down, cpu blown up and so on. Two critical errors to easily try is to pull one hot-swap disk or just unplug one ups.. But I dont dare. ;-) The more easily things to trigger is to logon with a wrong password, and generating an warning. But this is quite soft problems. Now what I would like to see is an application that can simulate all kind of problems. A kind of "honeypot" for errors... What are you other having for thoughts regarding this issue?
