Yes, there is an open bug about this. It is recommended that UAs should use the element's language for formatting into localized strings: https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=13408 Also note that there is another open bug regarding the application of calendars to date\time controls with a proposed fix to apply the unicode extensions: https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=15278 Thanks, Cameron Jones
