here's a couple notes that may help:
* an initial collection of EBS snippets we can improve upon:

* at least for aws-ec2, node.getHostname will report properly in jclouds 1.1.
There's currently not a comprehensive set of integration with dns and elastic
ip, but using the ElasticIPAddressClient built into jclouds is a start
