Ah, seems they are not removed by the "setup.py clean --all" command.

I added to our release instructions:

find -name "*.pyc" -o -name "*.orig" -o -name "*.rej" -o -name "*.~1~" -delete

Oh... Yes, it was generated automatically but I figured it wasn't very
useful because that information can also be found in the Bazaar
repository at Launchpad.
But okay, I understand it is convenient/necessary for you so I re-added it :-)
