doing this asynchronously from the request does kill any fail-over strategy though :(
only when that page was just not saved before a crash and then only for a back button when the failover did happen and the user uses the back button. just after that. personally, i can live with that. But we could make a setting that everything happens in the request thread? but we have some saying here in holland: how high are we going to build the banks to keep the water out. (or are you calculating that it sometimes under rare circumstances it can go wrong but that will keep the cost down) johan
