Yes.

But, IMHO, if you're happy with cvs today, you should stay with it for
the moment.

Subversion is great, but does not yet fully support true renaming. So
even if subversion seems to me a better choice for projects that
*begin* nowadays, until it has full renaming support (and the
associated issues with branch merging while renaming files in both
branches), it may not be worth the change.
