Ahh i see it is the Target Components id that is being reset with this:
target.add(new PathAttributeModifier("id", target));
yes that should be fixeable now with the latest stuff.
Another when you want component cooperate with each other e.g. with
generated _javascript_ and the HTML id attributes that were set on them
in the markup. For instance see issue
