I've looked briefly at Wicket and think I have a basic understanding
of how it works (I've looked into Tapestry in the past).

I have a simple, mostly static, website. In order to minimize maintenance,
I generate the site from some XML descriptors and HTML templates using
Ant and Freemarker. I'd like to move this to live servlets and something
like Wicket or Tapestry.

My vision is to provide an HTML template for the default layout of the
site pages. Then provide the page navigation information (in code or
in XML or some other datasource) and an HTML file containing the main
content for each page.

Has anyone used Wicket for something similar? I'm not really asking if
this can be done - as I'm fairly sure it is. I want to know if this
is something that is going work well for what I'm trying to do?

Thanks,
C
