That's basically the exception with the throwable argument. Furthermore, there are the CharSequences, which should be converted to strings, and for the rest I don't know from the top of my head. I hope it is doable! The disadvantage of patching Wicket is of course that you don't have the bugfixes etc unless you do it manually.
Is it your hosting party requiring you to use WS on JDK 1.3? That version is almost EOL...
