Not sure. Downloading the dependency can also be a result of an upgrade of one of the maven plugins though.
To see what the final pom is, try: mvn help:effective-pom The easymock needed to be downgraded as it is a Java 5 version incompatible with wicket-spring (which is java 1.4).
