Hello Wikimedia Community. Last week, I met with Leila Zia during her Wikimedia research office hours to discuss expanding information access for early learners. Leila encouraged me to post to this listserv.
I am a graduate student at the University of Michigan's schools of Education and Information, studying 1) how early learners explore their curiosity independently and 2) potential supports for early learners. For more information, see my Wikipedia user page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:GarretPotter I would be grateful to learn from and join a discussion with anyone who has hands on experience, research experience, or research interests in: 1) the development of wiki content contribution sites, 2) framing or outlining information architecture that is suitable for storing audio and visuals [maybe more optimally than Wikipedia's existing SQL structure], and 3) ways to safely expand Wikipedia access to pre-text-literate early learners (in age-appropriate spoken vocabulary, content length/duration, visual imagery, etc.). I look forward to learning from you. Thank you. Sincerely, Garret Potter _______________________________________________ Wiki-research-l mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
