^_^ Yup, that extension partially inspired mine.
Mine even still does have a suggest feature for those who don't know
about the ID's.
And instead of a Video: page. It's got an Embed: page, and you can
nicely embed things into the page, even using a fair set of different
parameters similar to the Image: tag.
And with all that, it's even got compatibility for those who want to use
a parserfunction or parser tag... So you can still use #wikivid if you
want to embed, and if you enable a certain parameter tags are enabled
using <service></service>, so it can even replace Wikia's YouTube
extension since with tags enabled it uses the same <youtube>id</youtube>
syntax. However after that you can even make it framed (you currently
need a template for that).

You can get most of the information there. But the embedding system is
pluggable, so if I completed it you could easily add service objects to
extend to gamespot and gametrailers. Long as they're within the normal way
its done, but even that is pretty liberal.
