--- Comment #10 from Jon <jrob...@wikimedia.org> 2012-09-11 19:05:13 UTC --- Sorry I've possibly been too vague. The page for the desktop site for www.wikipedia.org is exactly the same as the mobile site for www.wikipedia.org - see bug 30389 for the background. The desktop site is responsively designed [1] and has some CSS media queries that appear to not render correctly on these Samsung phones due to some difference in the rendering issue for the Samsung phones you identify. I'm not sure when someone will get a chance to look into this (I suspect I won't for some time) but if you or anyone reading this fancies tackling the problem themselves you can propose changes by editing: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Www.wikipedia.org_template%2Ftemp which is the page that powers the homepage. I'm happy to review, test and get deployed a fix for this. I believe the correct solution is to adjust the html and css to remove the need for the search box to be styled via position: absolute and instead use position: relative [1] http://mobile.smashingmagazine.com/tag/responsive-design/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
