Steven Walling, Thanks for the reply and here are the steps to take to recreate
the issue: Please open the link:

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:Popular_Science_Monthly_Volume_17.djvu

Scroll down to the pages display and select any group of at least five
consecutive pages that are marked in red (not proofread). Beginning with the
first page, click to switch to the page display (Page: namespace).

Please note the [forward] & [backward] arrows in the upper left. These navigate
to the consecutive pages.

Click on [Edit] to open "and watch for the loading of the .djvu page."

Make any change in the main body of the text and scroll down below the text
area and click on [Save]. It may be required to specify a summary (any
character will do).

[Save] closes [Edit] mode, returns to [Read] mode, and triggers the "Your edit
was saved." message. Click the [Right] arrow for the next page while the
message is displayed.

Click on [Edit] to open the next page and watch for the image being loaded.

Some comments:
--------------
I use the upper/lower edit mode and not the side by side mode. This means that
the image is displayed on top with the editing below.

The problem may not appear in the first couple of pages, although the image
always loads with a noticeable delay. After awhile, the image no longer loads.

I hope this helps, and please ask for any info that;s pertinent.
