I shudder to think what the code in the first patch does, this is better
implemented by extensions, of which there are already many:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Preloader and
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:InputBox seem to link to most of them.
The second patch has been obsoleted by the ?preload= parameter many years ago.
If there are still specific pieces of functionality missing, please open new
bugs (after checking through the similar ones)
