            Bug ID: 62384
Summary: Move "mwdumper" component from "Tools" to "Datasets"
                    product?
           Product: Wikimedia
           Version: wmf-deployment
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Unprioritized
         Component: Bugzilla
          Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
          Reporter: aklap...@wikimedia.org
                CC: aklap...@wikimedia.org, ar...@wikimedia.org,
                    br...@wikimedia.org, s...@reedyboy.net
       Web browser: ---
   Mobile Platform: ---

I would like to move Bugzilla's "mwdumper" component from Bugzilla's "Tools" to
"Datasets" product.
It looks like a good fit there, as its description says:
"Java-based tool for converting and importing MediaWiki XML database dumps".
Plus I'd slowly like to kill Bugzilla's "Tools" product, as it's confusing now
that "Tools" mostly refers to stuff on Tool Labs. See bug 53986 for related
discussion.

Brion / Ariel: Would that be okay?

Brion: Do you still want to remain default assignee for "mwdumper" in Bugzilla,
or should that rather be "Nobody <wikibugs-l at lists.wikimedia.org>" nowadays?
If the latter, do you still want to be in default CC?

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Tools
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Datasets

After doing so, the Bugzilla link in
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:MWDumper#Reporting_bugs will need
updating. It is currently incorrect anyway.
