I have the same problem on commons. This is very frustrating, since it means I
have to reupload about 40 images.
The Javascript console mentions this three times (which corresponds to the
number of stuck uploads):
Unable to check file's status
load.php?debug=false&lang=de&modules=ext.uploadWizard&skin=vector&version=20140423T031516Z&*:151
