Bug ID: 66748 Summary: Suggester changes input if an alias matches Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: Unprioritized Component: WikidataRepo Assignee: wikidata-b...@lists.wikimedia.org Reporter: thiemo.maet...@wikimedia.de CC: wikidata-b...@lists.wikimedia.org Web browser: --- Mobile Platform: --- This is an issue in the new ("ooMenu" based) suggester. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to a random item. 2. Add a statement. 3. Type "state" (as in "stated in"). Wait. Be surprised. What happens: The suggester automatically selects "is in the administrative-territorial entity". Because this does have an alias "state". Unfortunately I can't tell if it was like that with the old suggester. Expected: Don't change what the user entered. Don't blame me, Lydia found this. )-; Please note that this behavior is case-sensitive (which it should not in my opinion, see bug 66715). This issue is probably heavily connected to bug 66715 (exact match not recognized if casing is different) and bug 66437 (auto-completion missing) but should be tracked as a separate issue in my opinion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
