I can confirm this issue. The problem is related to the use of the parameter
'callback=jQuery...' in the api call.
According to
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Data_formats#Callback_restrictions, when
callback mode is used clients are treated as anonymous users, even after
logging in. Is callback mode strictly necessary?
