Summary: Wikipanion for iPad has a search engine problem Product: Wikipedia Mobile Version: .5 Platform: Other OS/Version: other Status: NEW Severity: critical Priority: Normal Component: iphone AssignedTo: hcat...@wikimedia.org ReportedBy: jeffl...@sbcglobal.net CC: tf...@wikimedia.org Something is wrong with the search engine attached to Wikipanion for iPad. I tried to find an article in Wikipanion for iPad about the NBC Pentagon correspondent Miklaszewski. When I typed in his last name (because I couldn't remember his first name) in the search slot and then pressed Search, a page entitled Miklaszewski appeared for about a half-second and then disappeared. Wikipanion then informed me that no such article existed. So I left Wikipanion and then opened Safari for iPad and went to www.wikipedia.com and re-entered Miklaszewski in the search slot. This time I was offered a list of potential Miklaszewski's starting with "Jim Miklaszewski" which I selected and found what I was looking for. For grins I went back to Wikipanion for iPad and entered "Jim Miklaszewski" ... and the same article appeared this time formatted for iPad. So what's up with this? The search engine in Wikipanion for iPad should have given me the same disambiguation choices to select from based on the last name that first time that I entered it.
