Go to a few random articles and select (this is what I meant by "use" - sorry) the interwikis you would like to connect to usually, let us assume ru, hu, el, es. 3. Go to another random article and check if the ru, hu, el, es appear. If they do appear, then the beta feature "Compact language links" works fine.
