It is already possible to filter by prefix.
For text-search there is already a search function that goes through the
MediaWiki-namespace.
however that one only searches through modifiedmessages (ie. existing pages).
So far my work around has been searching on translatewiki (as the pages do
exist there). but this has the sideeffect that it often get's me only 1 result
instead of 25 with 25 items per page (meaning, it gives me 25 languages of 1
item).
So being able to search right in the core would really be a good improvement as
this one allows picking a language.
