Summary: Opera Mobile input method oddity with SimpleSearch focus on magnifying glass click Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foo OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Normal Component: UsabilityInitiative AssignedTo: tpars...@wikimedia.org ReportedBy: br...@pobox.com CC: roan.katt...@gmail.com, amil...@wikimedia.org, asha...@wikimedia.org Got a report which I can confirm for a little problem with SimpleSearch used under Opera Mobile/Android & its relatives. (Opera Mobile -- not Mini!) Pull up a page on en.wikipedia.org or ja.wikipedia.org and switch back to desktop view. Tap into the search box to trigger text input. Type some stuff, then hit the 'done' button or click outside the field to close it. You should now see the popup menu with typeahead options come up. Clicking the magnifying glass button in the search field currently does two things: 1) focus the search field 2) submit the form This focusing appears to be problematic in Opera Mobile as it triggers text input mode, which can cause the input method / on-screen keyboard to display. This is very visibly disruptive with the regular Android keyboard in landscape mode (where it takes over the whole screen), and apparently is also quite nasty with Japanese input methods. It looks like just taking out the focus call should get it working. Is the focus there needed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
