Keep in mind that some of those accounts were set up in order to opt-out of the
emails, as often people thought that was the only way to opt-out.  Of course
the settings are quite difficult to get to in the account manager.  Why not
just provide an opt-out link, LinkedIn?

Composing a response off a spam OTRS ticket and altering the subject and
destination gets a message sent from a Wikimedia email address.  That's what I
did as referenced in comment 1.
