TASK DESCRIPTION Chrome does seem to show (some?) active styles while a menu item is clicked. However, Firefox does not. IE and Safari have yet to be tested. As a workaround, it might be possible to add some class to the clicked menu item on `mousedown` and apply the `:active` styles if that class is present. There are probably some edge-cases with this workaround that might not be worth the time investment.
