After discussing this more, we found that the metrics were actually moved for T272128: Fix tracking for query service UI <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T272128>, but too many metrics were moved. The actual change in 704365 <https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/704365> affects only the metrics collected in ResultView.js, however, also the metrics collected in App.js were moved.
