I can’t reproduce this – I enabled Drag'n'drop on Wikidata, and I still see the icons (and their contents) on several example items I tried. I also tried importing User:Magnus Manske/dragref.js in my common.js instead of enabling it in the Preferences, but that didn’t make a difference either.
