TASK DESCRIPTION

Cognate applies some normalization to page titles, to allow different representations of the same title to be automatically linked.

To evaluate this mechanism, we want to know how often normalization leads to "clashes", that is, how often there exist two titles on the same wiki that have the same normalized form. We would also want to know which of the "clashing" titles are redirects, and how often such clashes occur between non-redirects.

For now, a one-off report based on the live database would be sufficient. For the future, a Special page listing clashes between non-redirect titles may be a useful maintenance tool.
