@Catrope, Just a heads up that I was unable to duplicate the same drop in query time when leaving out the change tags clause in T176456, probably for the reason mentioned, that parts of the query had been cached or paged-in. I probably made that same mistake in T164796 as well, so maybe check that before breaking out the subquery.
