This bug still seems to be present on Wikidata. For example, at https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q28790416 I see "1. millennium", "6. century", "7. century" (with my language set to English). In English, this format doesn't make any sense and looks like an error. It should say "1st millennium", "6th century", "7th century", etc. As Daniel mentioned, "5 August" is fine in English. "5 century", however, is never correct.
