Hey all,

We created a connection between Wikibase, the software that runs Wikidata,
and Semantic MediaWiki.

Semantic MediaWiki adds structured data support to your wiki, similar to
Wikibase. Though the focus is different. This connection allows you to
combine the best of both worlds. As an example, you can run queries and
embed inline visualizations directly in wiki pages without needing to set
up blazegraph or the query service.

We hope to extend this connection to allow using Wikidata directly in your
semantic wiki. Potentially by building on the Wikibase federation
functionality that Wikimedia Deutschland is developing.
