*Open Praxis*, the journal of the International Council for Open and
Distance Education has published a special edition to honor Nyameko Barney
Pityana, former Vice Chancellor of the University of South Africa (Unisa).
Unisa is Africa's largest university, one of the mega-universities of the
world and a founding anchor partner of the OER university network.

"*The OER university has propelled the world -- Welcome to the the future of
ODL*" said Professor Olugbemiro Jegede, Secretary General and Chief
Executive of the Association of African Universities. "*We are all in for an
exciting future with the unthinkable beginning to happen*."
