Hi Lars, great idea indeed.

In the Italian Wikisource, we decided to "participate" in Wiki Loves Monuments
just working on geographic/travel books, with illustrations and engravings.
next step could be relating those with the list of monuments, as you suggest.

It would need a lot of work, but it's probably worth it.
