Hello all, == Landing page ==
In a few days Wiki Loves Monuments will start. To let your country participate you must have a landing page (often a website) where participants will come to read more about the contest, rules, jury, prizes, how to participate, etc. This landing page MUST be linked here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/CentralNotice#URL No landing page = no participation. (If you do not get managed to register an url or set up a website: create a landing page on Commons or Wikipedia and link it in the list above.) Check if your country is added! Early on 31 August we will check if there is a landing page and will start move countries on: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/Participating_countries == Missing translations == === Central Notice === We still miss translations into Chinese of the sentence (or something like that): Wiki Loves Monuments: Photograph a monument, help Wikipedia and win! This sentence will be shown during September above all relevant Wikipedias. Add the sentences at: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/CentralNotice#Main_banner === Banner templates === We still miss translations into Chinese of some templates: Into zh-cn: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-hk https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-tw https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_Wiki_Loves_Monuments_no_contest Into zh-hans (Simplified Chinese): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-hk https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-tw Into zh-hk: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-cn https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-tw === Lists of monuments === We highly recommend to create lists of monuments on Wikipedia to enable participants to look up the monuments of what a picture can be taken. Info about this at: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2013/Upload_campaigns#What_to_keep_in_mind_with_creating_a_list_of_monuments.3F Countries which need certainly to work on this are: * Algeria -> no tables * Azerbaijan -> not the regular lists of monuments, missing unique identifiers: have a look on other Wikipedias with other countries * Botswana -> lists anywhere? * Egypt -> no tables * El Salvador -> lists in pdf: what unique identifier need users to fill in with uploading? * Hong Kong -> missing unique identifiers in lists, if none official available, probably the best is to create your own * Nepal -> lists anywhere? * Syria -> lists anywhere? * Taiwan -> lists not yet in template format, please convert Please keep in mind this list is not complete with all issues, but is only a quick scan with most important issues. Thanks for all the hard work everyone!
