The best is to create collateral pages for people looking for excursions and to create small groups.
I spend quite a lot of time in Poland, but I visit the country thanks to a Polish friend, without him I would get lost quickly. Krakow is quite touristic and in the town is sufficient to speak English, Katowice is a big commercial town and English is quite common but out of the big towns the use of English is not so widespread. I went to the salt mine of Wieliczka by public transportation (I recommend too) but it was overcrowded (in October) and thanks to him I avoided a lot of queues and problems with the tickets. Consider that these touristic points can be really overcrowded in August.
