We are deeply saddened by the passing of *Wilson Oluoha*, our former board member of the Commons Photographers User Group <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Commons_Photographers_User_Group> and a key pillar of *Wiki Loves Africa*. His untimely departure on September 13, 2024, in Abuja, Nigeria, has left the entire Wiki community in shock and grief.
Wilson's contributions were not just about his work but the spirit with which he approached it—bringing passion, dedication, and a genuine love for the movement and the people in it. His leadership and commitment to open knowledge and free culture made a lasting impact on countless projects, particularly in representing Africa's stories through Wiki Loves Africa. He was a true champion of our mission, always willing to support and guide those around him, inspiring many with his vision and kindness. We have lost not only a great contributor but also a wonderful human being whose legacy will live on through the work he cherished and the community he helped build.
