Thanks Bishakha for sharing this, I wasn't aware of this. I am thinking about it since quite a while and I guess the community here could help me to get an opinion on it: Wouldn't it be sensible for Wikimedia Chapters to become members of their local ISOC chapters? ISOC has chapters in many countries and a similar structure like Wikimedia, with geographical chapter organisation (well, there is ISOC Belgium + ISOC Wallonia...) and I think the ISOC would be a good entry into engaging in internet governance.
Are there any chapters which are ISOC members? I only heard once about WMIL cooperating with ISOC IL so far. /Manuel Am 21.06.2013 07:48, schrieb Bishakha Datta: > Here's a call from ISOC for applying for funding to attend the Internet > Governance Forum to be held 22-25 October in Bali: > http://www.internetsociety.org/what-we-do/education-and-leadership-programmes/next-generation-leaders/igf-ambassadors-programme > > Deadline: 24 June. > > 2013 calendar of the Internet Governance Forum at: > http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/component/content/article/121-preparatory-process/1278-2013-calendar > > Includes the European Dialog on Internet Governance that is on now. -- Wikimedia CH - Verein zur Förderung Freien Wissens Lausanne, +41 (21) 34066-22 - www.wikimedia.ch _______________________________________________ Wikimedia-l mailing list Wikimedia-l@lists.wikimedia.org Unsubscribe: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-l
